Xing.com is a career-based social networking site that brings together more than 5 million members (as of January 2008) in 16 different languages.  The site can be accessed online or through mobile devices like PDAs and iPhones.

The majority of visitors are from Germany, so they spend time on the German version of the site.  However, the site is also available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Dutch, Chinese, Finnish, Swedish, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Turkish and Hungarian.

Like its competitor (linkedin.com), the site offers members personal profile pages, groups, discussion forums, and event coordination.  All of these various features are free to all members.

Premium membership (which costs $9.00 per month) allows members to perform detailed searches within the network and opportunities to connect with other members easier.

Xing.com also have a variety of plugins for members so that they can easily sync their online contact list with their own personal address book (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc.).

Demographics
Xing.com has roughly 60K visitors from the United States each month. However, 70% of their visitors are from Germany, and no statistics can be found at this time.
