Eons.com is a niche social networking site targeting people over 50 years old in the United States. However, anyone older than 13 is eligible to join.

The site provides members with a variety of sections; including: member profile pages, obituaries, online games, news section, group section, video and photo galleries, and blogs.

The news section is set up like Digg.com where members can submit and vote on stories with a “Boom.”

The profile pages – strangely enough – look similar to the MySpace.com mash-up with themes, customized font colors, picture gallery, YouTube videos, etc. On first glance, these pages could easily be confused with a teenager’s profile on MySpace – except without the health care and funeral home advertising.

Demographics
The site’s popularity has dropped tremendously since July 2007, which is when advertising probably stopped. The site has now maintained a steady 400,000 unique visitors a month. 72% of visitors are from the United States.
