Ecademy.com is an online community for business professionals to expand their personal networks. The site was founded in 1998, and help join people together for both online and offline meetings.

Members can develop online groups, called “Communities of Practice” that join people together who have a same type of business or interest.

Membership is free, but to gain full access to the site’s networking tools (like power search, referrals, meeting management, profile stats, friend of a friend, or creating a group) there is an annual fee.

The fee to be a “PowerNetworker” is $14.95 per month. And the fee to be a “BlackStar” is $105 per month. Each of these memberships comes with certain tools and features to help promote their personal business.
