Doostang

Doostang.com is a career-based social networking site that helps members find jobs or internships. It was started by two alumni from MIT and Stanford to help people find great jobs. Users can upload their resume, post information on their profile page, and search for jobs they’re interested in.

The majority of job posts are open to the entire network, but some job postings may only be seen by members who have a premium membership.

The premium membership allows members to gain access to “Selected Practice Groups” (SPGs) were jobs are posted to only premium members. To gain premium membership, members must invite 20 new members – and complete their profile to at least 75% (which can include uploading their full resume, entering educational background, and providing other background information.

As of October 2007, they have over 300,000 members.
