BuzzNet

Buzznet.com is a social networking site based around pictures – very similar to Flickr.com.

One of the main differences between Flickr and Buzznet is that pictures may be tagged with keywords by anyone – whereas Flickr photos may only be tagged by the user who submitted the picture or friends.

Members of the site can quickly find photos by typing in keywords – and then the pictures will be sorted according to similar tags that match the keyword or keyword phrase.

Buzznet members each have their own profile page, RSS feed for their blog, buddy list, trackbacks (who links to you), bookmarks (favorite links), custom themes, message area, photo section, etc.  Members also may join the various communities within Buzznet to find members with similar interests (e.g. music, celebrities, ideas, etc.).

A typical profile page will have a unique theme – along with a  navigation bar for easy access into the member’s photo gallery, journal (or blog area), list of friends, and comment area.

The basic membership is absolutely free and allows members to upload up to 60 photos per month.   Basic membership also includes a free blog with RSS syndication and a personal homepage (or profile page).

The paid membership is $36 dollars a year, which gives members an ad-free experience, along with additional customized theme pages, private photo gallery access, and up to 250 photo uploads per month.

Demographics
The unique visitor count on Buzznet.com is 3 million per month as of May 2008. The site’s visitors are mostly from the United States.
