aSmallWorld

The Wall Street Journal nicknamed aSmallworld - the “MySpace for Millionaires” since membership is based on invitation only – and has a lot to do with a person’s connections, job title, education, and/or celebrity status.

The site operates like other online social networks wherein members have access to profile pages, event calendars, forums, and the option to instant message other members.

Since these members might live in a variety of locations throughout the year, the profile pages give members the ability to list several cities as their location. This is unique to aSmallworld because every other social networking site only allows members to list one city as their primary residence.

According to Wikipedia, celebrities like Tiger Woods, Prince, Naomi Campbell, Ivanka Trump, and Quentin Tarantino all have memberships in this exclusive online club.

The site started receiving some press in 2006 when independent movie producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein gave a financial investment for an undisclosed amount.

Membership data is not listed anywhere, but Wikipedia says that there are approximately 300,000 members.

What is known about the visitor data is that members seem to be from all over the world. Most members are from the United States, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
